Emerging Cleveland was started in 2005 by Justin Glanville and Erin Aleman when they were Master's students at the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. Their original vision was to share "undiscovered gems" of Cleveland with young Northeast Ohio ex-pats visiting home for the holidays. In the first year, they offered four tours around the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

After a job offer took Erin to Chicago, Jeanne Romanoff joined Emerging Cleveland as co-organizer in 2007. Justin and Jeanne continue to lead annual holiday tours for ex-pats, and have recently expanded to leading specially commissioned tours for a range of organizations including the Cleveland Bar Association, Hillel, The Jewish Community Federation and Laurel School.

Justin is originally from the suburbs of Cleveland and returned after 12 years in Iowa and New York City. He has a Master of Urban Planning, Design and Development from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University. He is the Project Director of Building Cleveland by Design and is in the process of renovating a century home in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood to LEED for Homes green building standards. Jeanne is a native of Cleveland Heights and has recently completed the Cleveland Executive Fellowship. She has a passion for urban communities, specifically Cleveland, and older neighborhoods. Jeanne has worked in Cleveland's non-profit community and for municipal government and lives in the Tremont neighborhood.

Justin and Jeanne are both urban nerds, and love it!
